A dad has spoken of his family’s “horrendous ordeal” after his teenage son was targeted and abused by a predator almost twice his age.
The heartbroken father said he was “glad” justice had finally caught up with Marek Dvorak but admitted it was a “hard day” sitting through the trial that exposed the years of abuse his son endured.
Dvorak, 31, was convicted at the High Court in Edinburgh on Wednesday, July 22, following a trial lasting more than a week. The Czech DJ and music producer, who also uses the alias Mark Coppi on social media and claims he is a resident DJ at Revolution Edinburgh, was found guilty of offences involving three young male victims.
Speaking after the verdict, the teenager’s dad told Edinburgh Live: “I’m glad he was found guilty of several charges. I’m not going to lie, it was definitely a hard day, and a struggle getting through the process.
“I’m just hoping now he gets a lengthy sentence, because at the end of the day he deserves everything that comes to him. I got very angry seeing him in court.
“Even though I was giving evidence from behind a screen, my partner was watching from the gallery and said he was laughing while I was speaking. But I refused to be intimidated by him. People like that need to be exposed so other people know what they’re like.”

One of Dvorak’s victims was subjected to abusive behaviour and sexual harm over a period of more than two years after first coming into contact with him when he was just 15 years old.
The court heard Dvorak repeatedly threatened to send footage showing him having sex with the boy to his friends and family in an attempt to cause him fear, alarm and distress. The offence took place between December 2023 and February 2026 at various locations across Edinburgh.
Jurors found Dvorak guilty of a total of five offences. They included assault and rape, domestic abuse involving physical violence, abusive behaviour and sexual harm.
The court also heard that between August 2021 and April 2024, Dvorak threatened to disclose footage appearing to show another teenage victim having sexual intercourse with another person. The victim had just turned 16 when the abuse began.
Between March 2023 and January 2024, Dvorak raped another teenage boy and carried out a sustained campaign of abuse against him. His behaviour included acting aggressively, shouting and swearing at the victim, making derogatory remarks about him and his family, threatening violence and taking intimate images before threatening to distribute them.
He also uploaded an image of the victim to a dating website without his consent and threatened to reveal the boy’s sexuality to others.
On one occasion, Dvorak repeatedly punched the victim on the head and body, kicked him while he lay on the ground and dragged him back to his feet. On another, he chased him before grabbing him and pulling him to the ground.
Dvorak was also convicted of breaching his bail conditions between July 2024 and February 2026 after failing to comply with an order banning him from contacting or attempting to contact children under the age of 16.
Dvorak, whose address was given as HMP Edinburgh, is due to be sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow on September 9.
