Fintiri receives Bamanga Tukur’s remains in Yola 

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has led other dignitaries to the airport in Yola to receive the body of the former Governor of the defunct Gongola State, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.
The body arrived Saturday night after it was flown from Abuja where the former top politician died earlier in the day.

Governor Fintiri was accompanied by many diginitaries, including the deceased’s first son, Awwal Tukur who is the Secretary to the Adamawa State Government.

The body was taken from the airport in Bachure, Yola, to the family house, known as the Tukur Lodge, located at the Old GRA, still within the Jimeta axis of Yola.

At the residence, Governor Fintiri joined the family, other government officials and private citizens in offering prayers for the deceased.

A burial arrangement announced by the family show that funeral prayers will be held at the Lamido Adamawa’s Palace in Yola at 10 a.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

He will be laid to rest after the prayers.
