Reece James will miss England’s clash with Panama, and is in a race against time to be fit for England’s last 32 tie, while Declan Rice is expected to be fit in midfield after his own injury scare.
England’s clash with Panama kicks off at 10pm BST (5pm ET) on Saturday 27 June at New York/New Jersey Stadium; the match against Panama will be broadcast in the UK on ITV 1 and ITVX, with coverage starting at 8.45pm BST.
England must win or better Ghana’s result against Croatia to qualify as group winners from Group L but a draw against Panama and a win by Ghana over Croatia will see The Three Lions qualify as Group L runners-up.
If England qualify as group winners, they will next play at 5pm BST on Wednesday 1 July, but if Thomas Tuchel’s side finish second, they will play at 12am BST on 3 July.
