You’ll never see the jaw-dropping finale twist coming.
With an overwhelming abundance of true crime programmes to choose from, settling on what to watch next can feel like a daunting task. My own watchlist just keeps on growing.
Yet there is one title that absolutely everybody should watch — it simply took me a little longer to get round to it. After encountering countless glowing reviews hailing the series as an “ultimate” watch with an “unmatchable ending”, I added it to my pile of programmes to watch — but never quite got round to pressing play until this week.
And I was left utterly speechless. Very rarely does a show truly live up to the hype surrounding it, but this one most certainly delivers.

If you haven’t seen it yet, do yourself a favour and watch The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst.
Having first aired back in 2015, it swiftly cemented its reputation as “one of the most definitive true crime documentaries of all time”, according to Sky, reports Wales Online.
Available to stream on Sky, NOW and HBO Max, Sky previously revealed: “The Jinx results from nearly a decade of research by the filmmakers, who expose police files, key witnesses, never-before-seen footage, private prison recordings, and thousands of pages of formerly hidden documents.”
It draws viewers deep into an investigation surrounding the murky past of Robert Durst, an eccentric heir to a New York real estate empire who was long suspected of involvement in three unsolved murders — yet had never been convicted.
Boasting an impressive 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, one viewer previously remarked: “Compelling, chilling, weird. This is one of the more bizarre murder mystery doco’s you will see, and it will have you hooked. The best docu-series of 2015.”

Another added: “Perhaps the best true crime docuseries ever.”
A third penned: “Peeling the layers away of psychopath bit by bit through a six part drama….with an unmatchable ending.”
A fourth wrote: “Mind blowing, the final episode is beyond my immediate comprehension, not because I could not understand it, but because of how it [unravels] so dramatically, the truth, after 30 plus years.”
Elsewhere on social media, another viewer claimed it featured the “wildest” twist, which prompted me to tune in with considerable expectations – and it absolutely delivered.
Without spoiling anything, the final episode left me completely lost for words, compelling me to dive straight into Series 2, before finding myself tumbling down a rabbit hole, desperate to uncover every last detail.
I’ll admit I was genuinely frustrated at not having watched it sooner, considering how long it has been widely accessible – though I must confess, it gave me genuine chills throughout.
Now TV previously posted on Facebook: “The most chilling end to a documentary you’ll ever see”, as responses flooded in. One viewer wrote: “I remember my mom watching this documentary I always remembered his eyes so dark and empty still gives me the creeps.”
