FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, has said that Spain’s 2026 World Cup triumph means they have earned themselves a place in football history.
Infantino stated this in a post on Instagram on Tuesday following the conclusion of the World Cup tournament.
DAILY POST recalls that Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in the World Cup final, thanks to Ferran Torres’ only goal.
Reacting, Infantino also said that Spain’s achievement will be remembered for generations.
“Sixteen years after lifting the trophy in South Africa, Spain is again proclaimed as FIFA World Cup champions. Football has a new golden chapter to celebrate, and this achievement will be remembered for generations,” Infantino said.
“Celebrate your families, your fans and your country. They have earned themselves a place in football history.
