Egypt captain, Mahira Ali says the players want to make a big impression against defending champions Nigeria, DAILY POST reports.

Mohammed Jamal’s side will be up against the defending champions in their final group game at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tonight.

Nigeria walloped the Cleopatras 8-0 in their only meeting at the 1998 edition of the competition.

Egypt have already lost twice at the WAFCON 2026 finals to Zambia, and Malawi.

Ali insisted that they won’t bow out of the competition without a fight.

“We asked the players to regain confidence and play our football. We want to show that Egyptian Women’s Football continues to progress,” Ali was quoted by CAFonline.
