Virgin Media appears to have suffered a major outage.

Thousands of people have taken to outage-tracking website DownDetector to report issues with Virgin Media’s TV service and broadband internet.

One person wrote on X: “Virgin Media TV not working. Completely pixilated. Tried to find out why. Message just says: “Sorry, there was an issue checking your services”.”

A user on X wrote: “@virginmedia What on earth is happening with your “service” this morning? Internet keeps going down, TV with massive picture breakup, your app “service” status doesn’t work, it won’t let me sign in to the app and a half hour wait, so far, just to speak to someone!”

In response to the user, a spokesperson for Virgin Media wrote: “Hi Phil, sorry about the disruption. We’re aware of the issue and our engineers are investigating.”

Problems with Virgin Media TV and broadband services began being reported on outage-tracking website DownDetector shortly before 10.30am.

Reports then surged at about 10.56am, with more than 3,150 users logging issues on the website.
