BBC One drama Two Weeks In August is currently airing on Saturday nights.

The new series, which boasts a star-studded cast, is also available to watch as a whole now on BBC iPlayer.

Written and created by Sally4Ever’s Catherine Shepherd, the new ‘witty and painfully relatable’ series follows a group of friends who reunite for a summer holiday.

However, the picture-perfect getaway is quickly thrown into turmoil by an illicit kiss and things go from bad to worse when they get trapped on the island.

In episode two, viewers see the group go on a boat trip, where the fallout from the illicit kiss and tension proves too much for the friends who are trapped on a boat together out at sea.

Talking about filming the boat scenes, Jessica Raine and Damien Molony, who play married couple Zoe and Dan on the show, opened up.

Damien, 42, joked: “There were a lot of seasick tablets passed around!”

To which Jessica, 44, admitted: “That was like looming, because I do get seasick and I have this monologue on it and I was absolutely terrified of the day. I think, and when it came to it, we all were, right? Because it was choppy.

“It was like, we can’t push this. We just have to get this done over the next two days. We were just like taking travel sickness pills… and some people didn’t make it.”

Damien added: “The choppiness, because even in those scenes, you can see the water level just like bobbing up and down. We must, it felt like we were kind of going up and down like six or seven feet. It was intense.”

Meanwhile, Antonia Thomas, who plays Jess, spoke about filming her dramatic scene on the boat. During the episode, things get too much for Jess as she dives off the side of the boat and swims to shore.

Antonia, 39, said: “It was quite nerve-wracking doing that because we were in the middle of the sea. It was really cold and we only had one go at it because of resets and hair and all of that stuff. I just remember being like, and it was quite kind of a big deal made out of it.”
