Trump’s new US ‘patriot passport’ draws a mixed reaction
Trump: ‘I think I’d be the greatest communist in history’
A new limited-edition US ‘Patriot Passport’ design featuring Donald Trump has been unveiled, sparking controversy.
Trump shared a “sneak peek” on Truth Social, captioning it with “Welcome, but be good!”, though these words do not appear on the passport itself.
Critics have highlighted the “creepy dictatorial vibe” and confusion over the “welcome” message, as passports are for US citizens, not foreign visitors.
This marks the first time a living president has appeared on a US passport, with commentators also criticising the “be good” warning.
Only 40,000 of these commemorative passports will be produced, available exclusively in person at the Washington Passport Agency from 6th July.
