Real Madrid forward, Vinicius Jr, has made a huge demand regarding his new contract with Real Madrid.

The Brazilian forward is demanding a percentage of image rights comparable to that of Kylian Mbappe at Santiago Bernabeu.

As per a report from AS, Vinicius Jr has agreed to reduce his salary expectations from €30 million per season to €20 million, a figure that the Spanish club is prepared to meet.

This new salary represents an increase of €5 million over his existing contract, which was signed in 2022 and has only one year remaining. Nevertheless, he earned €18 million last season due to a gradual rise in his wages.

Discussions regarding the new contract have been ongoing for almost two years, yet progress has been limited. While both parties have now reached an agreement on the salary, the issue of image rights continues to pose a challenge.

The Brazilian star previously held 50% control over his image rights but is now aiming for nearly 100%, akin to Kylian Mbappe. Earlier reports indicated that he was seeking 80% control, but AS now asserts that the latest negotiations have escalated this demand to almost 100%.

Los Blancos are eager to finalize an agreement promptly, as they wish to make a decision regarding his future.

They are keen to avoid losing the Brazilian on a free transfer, as he will be eligible to sign a pre-contract with any club starting in January.

Arsenal is actively pursuing the 26-year-old this summer but is also willing to wait until the summer of 2027, when he will be available without a transfer fee.

Los Blancos aim to complete the deal this summer if he does not renew his contract with the club.
