New Chelsea player, Morgan Rogers, has suggested that manager, Xabi Alonso convinced him to join the Blues.
Chelsea announced the signing of the England international from Aston Villa on Tuesday.
Speaking at his first interview as a Chelsea player, Rogers said he spoke to Alonso and the Spaniard’s footballing philosophy aligns with his vision of the game and played a major part in his decision to join the Premier League west London club.
“I have had a few conversations with him, and I think it’s important for me to be here that I need to understand what the manager’s like, how he is and how he wants to operate,” Rogers said via the club’s website.
“It very much fits with the way I see the game, the way I want to play, and the way I want to be me, and be free and express myself.
“Him being a part of that was a massive factor in me being here,” he said.
