Transfer: ‘He earns more than Saka’ – Kieran doubts Arsenal can pay Victor Osimhen

Football analyst with The Sun, Kieran Davies, has cautioned Arsenal that signing the former African Footballer of the Year from Galatasaray, Victor Osimhen, may entail a significant financial investment.

He reminded the Gunners that the Nigeria international’s earnings at Galatasaray are way more than what Arsenal pay Bukayo Saka.

Transfer rumours persist regarding Osimhen, who has commenced the 2026-27 season impressively, scoring four goals in two matches.

Arsenal are reportedly seeking a prominent centre-forward and have been associated with Atlético Madrid’s Argentine star Julián Álvarez, as well as Osimhen.

Davies, a digital journalist for The Sun, said Arsenal might not be able to pay the striker his weekly wages.

Osimhen currently receives approximately £326,000 weekly in Turkey, suggesting he would need to significantly reduce his wage expectations for Arsenal to finalise a transfer.

In his article for The Sun, Davies said, “One must consider what Arsenal would need to offer Victor Osimhen to entice him away from Galatasaray.

“He is presently earning £326k per week in Turkey and would undoubtedly seek a higher salary from any prospective clubs.”

Bukayo Saka is reportedly Arsenal’s top earner, receiving an estimated £300,000 per week, which places him £26,000 below Osimhen’s salary at Galatasaray.

Osimhen has a guaranteed annual income of €15 million at Galatasaray, along with a net loyalty bonus of €1 million per season and €5 million annually in image rights.
