Susan Boyle sent another public message to Timothée Chalamet ahead of both the Scotland team and the New York Knicks securing huge wins last night.
While Scotland secured their first World Cup victory in 36 years in a 1-0 win against Haiti, it was also a huge moment for basketball fans in the US as the New York Knicks won the NBA championship for the first time in 52 years.
SuBo issued a personal message to the Scotland squad earlier in the day, saying: “This message is for you lads. I had a dream and Scotland has a dream. You can do this. No Scotland No Party.”
But she returned to the social media platform hours later to wish luck to the Marty Supreme star’s team too.
Dressed in an Irn Bru themed jacket with their advertising slogan ‘Made In Scotland From The Girders’ across the front, SuBo said: “Hi Timothée I hear your team is doing very well so I had this jacket made for you.”
Reading out a poem, she said: My Girders are Scottish. My jacket Supreme. The Knicks have been divine. Now it’s Scotland’s turn to shine.”
The former BGT star and Chalamet first struck up a friendship last year when the actor named SuBo among his top five list of Brits who he considers to be the greatest of all time.
While promoting his film Marty Supreme last December, he said in an interview: “She dreamt bigger than all of us. Who wasn’t moved by that? I remember that like it was yesterday. That was like the advent of YouTube, you know.”
Boyle responded with a public message, thanking the 29-year-old for his actor and for remembering her iconic Les Miserables audition so fondly.

Since then, the pair have exchanged friendly banter online as well as gifts after the Wonka star sent the West Lothian singer her own Marty Supreme jacket as a Christmas present.
Susan has now returned the favour with a jacket of her own to gift the star.
Chalamet is known to be a huge Knicks fan with a clip of the actor celebrating their final win at Madison Square Garden earlier in the week going viral online.
In a video that now has over 1M likes, Chalamet and his girlfriend Kylie Jenner can be seen walking past a group of basketball fans in the stadium cheering.
The star then jumps into the crowd with them all and starts ripping off his tshirt in celebration of his team’s victory.
So it’s likely he had an even more passionate reaction when they won the NBA Championship against San Antonio Spurs last night.
