Let’s face it, most of us who own a pair of good gym leggings seldom save them for gruelling, sweaty workouts alone. They’re often a comfortable alternative to jeans that we reach for when popping to the supermarket, doing the school run, or simply heading out for brunch with the girls.
One brand whose leggings have been praised for being ‘super comfortable’ in a whole manner of activities is Gymshark, whose Adapt Fleck x Whitney design has been dubbed by shoppers ‘the best pair of leggings I’ve ever worn’ – with one person citing: “I would wear them every day if I could.”
Costing £50, the leggings come in ten different colours, including its newest shade: pink. Available in sizes XXS to XXL, the leggings are made from a combination of 80% Nylon, 14% Polyester and 6% Elastane, making them not just breathable and sweat-wicking, but squat-proof too – for those days when you do want to wear them for a weights session.

Crafted with a thick ribbed waistband, the leggings flatten our tummies and offer a ‘locked in’ feeling that stays put whether running for the bus or on a treadmill.
One great aspect of these leggings is that they come thick enough – i.e., squatproof – to avoid that embarrassing knickers-visible-transparency. This makes them perfect for wearing with baby tees, cropped jackets, and jumpers – although the ‘coconut’ shade isn’t quite as opaque.

Gymshark’s Adapt Fleck x Whitney Leggings are a firm favourite amongst shoppers thanks to their squatproof material and comfortable fabric.
A similar style that can be worn for leisurely activities or a sweaty HIIT session is the TALA SkinLuxe No Front Seam Leggings, £52, which come in three colours. Soft on the skin and stretchy, the leggings are versatile and comfy enough for lounging in (teamed with the brand’s oversized hoodie, £62) but can put in a shift at the gym, offering support and zero transparency.
For those wanting to save a few pennies, Stacey Solomon swears by these £9.99 Amazon leggings that are ‘buttery soft’ and offer ‘tummy control’. Our very own Laura McKenna has this style – here are her thoughts.
Although for those wanting to invest in a pair of leggings that will certainly last years, I can attest to owning a number of Gymshark pieces – the Adapt Fleck x Whitney Leggings are a great option. And with a 4.4-star rating, I’m not the only one who thinks so.
One fan of the design said: “I bought my first pair of Adapt Fleck Seamless Leggings last year, and I’ve worn and washed them pretty much all year round. They’ve performed amazingly well and still fit great and feel super comfortable. They’re completely squat-proof, and I’m genuinely very happy with them. I picked up a new colour during this year’s sale, and I’m honestly really satisfied with it. Thanks, Gymshark!”

Another echoed the praise and said: “I’ve had these leggings for over a year and wear them constantly. As a personal trainer, I need gear that lets me move freely and demo exercises without worry—and these are absolutely perfect. They’re completely squat-proof, sweat-proof, and super comfortable. I just bought my third pair and can’t wait to wear them during my own workouts!”
Someone else noted: “This was my first Gymshark purchase, and it’s the best pair of leggings I’ve ever worn – I would wear them every day if I could! The material is amazing, stretchy, and it’s super comfortable, barely feels like I am wearing any pants. After this, I already bought another pair in a different colour. Absolutely love them.”
While most people found the leggings’ fit brilliant, a few said they were a smidge ‘tight’, while others experienced disappointment with the colouring of the garment. One user left a three-star review, which read: “Very comfortable, but the colour doesn’t match the photo.” So keep this in mind.
Although for the most part, the Adapt Fleck x Whitney Leggings have left shoppers impressed, whether going to the gym or just out and about. One glowing review read: “Gymshark Adapt Flexk Seamless tights are incredibly comfortable, with a soft, breathable material that moves with you. The fit is perfect, offering a flattering shape without feeling restrictive. Ideal for both intense workouts and casual wear, these tights provide excellent support and flexibility. Definitely a wardrobe staple for activewear.”
“These leggings are so comfortable and are made so well,” said another, who added: “The fabric is thick and still stretchy for comfort. The price beats other brands such as Fabletics and Lululemon, and the quality is better. They are also so flattering, and the thick, wide waistband helps with smoothing the stomach for a confident day or workout.”

Shoppers can complete the look with the brand’s Adapt Fleck x Whitney Tank With Shelf, £35, which comes with a flattering square neckline, internal shelf bra and ribbed hem under the bust for a little extra support. Meanwhile, its scoop back shows off the upper body post-Pilates.
For those who prefer shorts – especially with summer on the horizon – Gymshark has just dropped its newly ‘Flex Reinvented Shorts’, £38, and its Vital Seamless Shorts in a new pink colourway, also £38. Both of which offer a similar squatproof, sweatwicking finish that come seamless for a comfortable wear.
