A governorship aspirant in Plateau State, Kefas Ropshik, on Monday submitted his nomination and expression of interest forms at the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abuja.

Ropshik is seeking the party’s ticket ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Plateau State.

The aspirant arrived at the PDP headquarters alongside supporters and political associates before formally presenting the documents to party officials.

He also met with the National Chairman of the PDP, Abdulrahman Mohammed, during which discussions reportedly centred on party unity, internal democracy and preparations for the next election cycle.

Speaking with journalists after submitting the forms, Ropshik said his governorship ambition was driven by service and development rather than personal interest.

He said, “My ambition is not driven by politics for its own sake. It is driven by responsibility, by experience, and by the conviction that Plateau deserves leadership that understands sacrifice, development, and the true meaning of service.”

He added that his aspiration was focused on creating opportunities for residents and improving economic development in the state.

“Every decision, every sacrifice, and every aspiration in this journey is centred on building a Plateau where opportunity is abundant, enterprise is nurtured, and every citizen has the dignity to thrive,” he added.

The latest development came days after the aspirant purchased the PDP nomination and expression of interest forms, officially declaring his intention to contest the governorship election.
