Princess Anne’s son has tied the knot to NHS nurse Harriet Sperling today, June 6, in a lavish ceremony, after just two years of dating – though this is not Peter Phillips’ first trip down the aisle.
The 48-year-old, who is a nephew of King Charles, previously wed Canadian-born Autumn Kelly in a lavish ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor back in May 2008. The guest list included the late Queen and Prince Philip, as well as his cousin Prince Harry, though Prince William was unable to attend.
Despite not yet being married at the time herself, Princess Kate attended the wedding, with many believing it was her first encounter with the late Queen.
The couple spent a period living in Hong Kong, where Peter was employed by the Royal Bank of Scotland, before eventually returning to the UK to raise their two daughters, Savannah, 14, who is the late Queen’s oldest great-grandchild, and Isla, 13.

However, in February 2020 the pair announced their separation following 12-years marriage of marriage. Their divorce was finalised “amicably”, with the former couple releasing a joint statement saying: “Whilst this is a sad day for Peter and Autumn, they continue to put the wellbeing and upbringing of their wonderful daughters Savannah and Isla first and foremost.
“Both Peter and Autumn are pleased to have resolved matters amicably with the children firmly at the forefront of those thoughts and decisions. Peter and Autumn have requested privacy and consideration for their children as the family adapts to a new chapter in their lives.”
Just 12 months after their divorce was finalised, Autumn was reported to have begun a romance with wealthy Irish property developer Donal Mulryan, the Mirror reports.
The pair had known each other for a number of years, and Donal was in the process of separating from his former wife when speculation about their relationship first began to circulate.
Autumn and Donal made their first public appearance as a couple at the Cirencester horse trials in March 2022, where they were seen alongside Autumn’s former sister-in-law, Zara Tindall, and her family.

Since then, the duo have been spotted together at a range of events, including the Cheltenham races, which are a firm favourite on the royal calendar. Autumn and Peter are understood to remain on good terms as they continue to co-parent their two daughters.

In 2022, both Peter and Autumn attended the same wedding, with Autumn bringing Donal along while Peter was accompanied by his then-girlfriend Lindsay Wallace. The celebration was for William Hosier and Stephanie Phillips – the daughter of Peter’s father, Captain Mark Phillips, and his second wife Sandy Pflueger.
Earlier this year, Autumn and Donal attended Cheltenham Festival at the same time as Harriet and Peter, while Autumn also joined former sister-in-law Zara for a cosy picture taken at Mike Tindall’s annual golf day.
Peter announced his engagement to girlfriend Harriet last August, with photographs released to mark the occasion showing Ms Sperling proudly displaying her engagement ring.
