  • Michael Davies, 58, has been found guilty at Newport Crown Court of murdering his wife, Tracey Davies, at their home in Cefn Cribwr, Bridgend.
  • Mrs Davies was found strangled to death in her bed on 18 April last year after family members raised concerns over a lack of contact.
  • Davies, who admitted manslaughter but denied murder, stabbed himself following the attack but recovered from his injuries.
  • The court heard that Davies had recently returned from working in Abu Dhabi due to poor mental health and was paranoid that his wife would leave him.
  • Paying tribute to Tracey as an extraordinary and loving woman, her family condemned the brutal attack as Davies awaits sentencing later this year.
