The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Tunji Disu on Friday told the Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke that he was informed about alleged criminal elements hibernating in the government house.
The IGP, who paid a visit to the Osun State Government House amid the rift between the governor and the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan, questioned why criminals would be hibernating in the government house.
The IGP also raised concerns that the CP informed him that some political parties are shielding criminals ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
He said, “I’ve heard complaints from Osun State, and I’m aware you’re not happy with the Commissioner of Police, but too has briefed me.
“The Commissioner said suspected criminals that he is looking for, are hibernating (hiding) in the Osun State Government House.
“If that is true, why should suspect be in a government house? I told him that as a police officer in charge, there should be a way he goes about it”.
