Olivia Rodrigo reveals album lyric change after Louis Partridge split

Olivia Rodrigo made a change to her forthcoming album, You Look Pretty Sad for a Girl in Love, following her split from English actor Louis Partridge.
She told the BBC that she revisited the lyrics of her new song “What’s Wrong With Me”, a collaboration with The Cure‘s Robert Smith, post break-up, after realising the relationship was the source of her upset.
Rodrigo also said she tweaked the lyrics to another track, “Purple”, transforming it from a “sweet and saccharine” love song into one that’s “the part of the album where things start to sour and unravel.”
The album, set for release on 12 June, was described by Rodrigo to the BBC as “a time capsule of a relationship in a few years of my life.”
Rodrigo and Partridge dated from October 2023 to December last year.
