Mis-Teeq have opened up about celebrating 25 years in music, their emotional reunion and why fans shouldn’t expect new music just yet.
The iconic garage and R&B trio, made up of Alesha Dixon, Sabrina Washington and Su-Elise Nash, are marking a quarter of a century since bursting onto the charts with hits including Scandalous, All I Want and One Night Stand.
Speaking about reaching the milestone, the group said they feel nothing but gratitude.
“We’re excited to celebrate our 25th year,” they told The Mirror, “Looking back, it was amazing to have songs in the charts, to have all those Top 10 hits. We’re thankful, we’re grateful and we’re just so happy to still be around with fans who have always supported us.
The trio revealed that fans have spent years asking when they would reunite. “People are always saying, ‘Ladies, when are you going to do a show together?’ So this is really for them. We came together to celebrate our 20th anniversary and the reaction was incredible. We just want to say thank you for listening and for supporting us all these years.”

Mis-Teeq recently announced a one-off reunion show at Wembley Arena on September 12, but stressed that, for now, there are no plans beyond that.
“We are doing a one-night stand with Mis-Teeq here in Wembley Arena on September 12, but that’s the only thing we’re doing at the moment,” they explained.
“We don’t have plans for new music right now. However, we are Mis-Teeq and sometimes things align and we might go with them. But honestly, at this moment in time, this is what we’re focused on.”
The group admitted it has taken a long time to reach this point. “It’s taken 25 years to get to this point,” they said. “It’s really special. Wembley is such an iconic venue. So many incredible artists have performed here and you can’t help but be in awe of that.”
Their recent reunion performance on Britain’s Got Talent was the first time many fans had seen the trio together in years and proved to be an emotional moment for all three.
Su-Elise said; “It was really incredible,” they said. “That was the first time anyone had seen us together in such a long time. It was important for us to be seen again in the light that we wanted to be seen in and to be able to share our connection and our comeback story. My little boy had never seen me perform with Mis-Teeq before, ever. So there was a lot of sentiment attached to that performance.”
The trio praised the Britain’s Got Talent team for making them feel comfortable throughout the experience.
Alesha said: “It felt like they really looked after us. The whole night felt very emotional. We were nervous, but because of the relationship we have with the show and everyone involved, we were made to feel completely at home. It just felt like one beautiful celebration.”
Having completed the highly anticipated comeback performance, they say they can now enjoy the reunion experience more fully. “We feel good now we’ve got that one out of the way,” they laughed. “Now we can relax and enjoy tonight a bit more.”

Asked whether they have a favourite Mis-Teeq song, the group admitted the answer changes depending on their mood. “A lot of the songs people love are the same songs we love, but for different reasons,” they explained. “There’ll be one song if we’re feeling hyped, another because it’s sentimental.”
Su-Elise admitted that Why? still brings her to tears because of what it represents in the group’s journey. Alesha picked Cool Breeze, saying: “I love everything about it. It’s cool, it’s good and it’s sweet.”
