Manchester United can begin focusing on the summer transfer window as the end of the season approaches. The Red Devils have secured third place in the Premier League and will return to the Champions League next term.
Michael Carrick has been a success as interim manager and is set to be given the job on a permanent basis. The 44-year-old coach has previously admitted to being involved in the club’s discussions ahead of the transfer window.
While replacing Casemiro will be among the team’s top priorities, there are other areas that Carrick may choose to strengthen. United have been linked with an interest in Juventus defender Gleison Bremer, who was recently named in Brazil’s World Cup squad.
Meanwhile, it has been claimed that United will need to sell one of their current players to complete a deal for another transfer target. Here, Mirror Football looks at some of the biggest stories surrounding Old Trafford.

Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that Juventus star Bremer has attracted interest from United. Michael Carrick’s side are said to be “on his trail”, alongside rivals Liverpool.
It is claimed that the 29-year-old will “listen to possible offers” in the summer, with the Turin club at risk of missing out on a Champions League place. Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus would consider extending the Brazilian’s contract, which currently runs until 2029 and includes a £50million release clause.
While Bremer is deemed to be happy at Juve, the defender is also said to be “in a hurry” to win major honours as he enters his prime years. The Brazil international has won one Coppa Italia since signing from Torino in 2022.
Bremer will aim to achieve success on the world stage as part of Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad this summer. At club level, the centre-back has made 31 appearances for Luciano Spalletti’s side in all competitions.

Sky Sport Deutschland has claimed that United must sell Noussair Mazraoui if the club wish to complete a move for Borussia Dortmund full-back Julian Ryerson. The club are said to be among the sides interested in the Norway international.
Ryserson has registered 15 assists in 31 Bundesliga games this term, which reportedly “has not gone unnoticed” by United. He has two years remaining on his deal and is expected to be priced at around £26m.

The Sky Sport Deutschland report details that United are searching for a right-back to challenge Diogo Dalot but any move for Ryerson will depend on Mazraoui leaving Old Trafford. The United defender arrived from Bayern Munich in 2024 and has made 10 league starts so far this season.
