Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has shared his ambitions beyond this season. The club captain has produced another impressive campaign, helping the team qualify for the Champions League.
The 31-year-old remains United’s star player and has provided 19 Premier League assists this term. As the club reportedly move a step closer to appointing Michael Carrick as permanent manager, Fernandes has shared his thoughts on the future.
The Portugal international was the subject of transfer speculation last summer. However, Fernandes has made it clear that he plans to stay at Old Trafford to fulfil the aims he set when first arriving from Sporting CP in January 2020.
Meanwhile, United have been linked with a move for Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi ahead of the summer transfer window. Here, Mirror Football looks at some of the biggest headlines surrounding the club.

The United skipper has insisted that the side should be targeting the sport’s biggest prizes next season. Fernandes reiterated that his decision to join the club was based on capturing major trophies and he remains focused on achieving his dream goals.
“Obviously going into next season, we all know that the aim of this club always has to be winning,” Fernandes said. “I think in the first place when a player chooses to come to Man United it’s not because you just want to wear the shirt.
“That’s a big feeling and it’s a big thing to walk out at Old Trafford and that was the dream I had but I had that dream because I knew the club could win things and be close to winning the Premier League and Champions League. That’s why I came to this club.”
The midfielder has won the FA Cup and League Cup during his time in England, while also narrowly missing out on the Europa League trophy last year. However, he is determined to win more major trophies with United.
“I speak out whenever I want on what I want to achieve and what I want to achieve is winning the league and winning the Champions League,” Fernandes explained.

Bournemouth have announced that defender Marcos Senesi will leave the club at the end of his contract this summer. The Argentina international, 29, who has been linked with United and several other Premier League clubs, is set to become a free agent.
Senesi joined the Cherries in 2022 and has played 126 games for the club. While there will be plenty of speculation about his next destination, the centre-back has insisted that he is focused on helping Andoni Iraola’s side secure a European place.
In a Bournemouth club statement, Sensei said: “From the first day I arrived, I felt at home at this club. I’m proud of everything we achieved over the last four years and I’m grateful for the support the fans have always given me.
“AFC Bournemouth will always hold a special place for me and I will look back at my time here with fond memories. For now, there are still two big games left of the season and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”
