MAGA loyalist Lauren Boebert dismisses Trump’s primary challenge threat
Lauren Boebert brushes off Trump calling for a primary challenge: ‘I stood by the president, I stand by my friend’
President Donald Trump threatened to endorse a primary challenge against Republican Representative Lauren Boebert, labeling her as “weak-minded.”
Boebert responded that she cannot be primaried as the filing deadline for candidates in Colorado passed on March 18, two months before Trump’s threat.
Trump’s ire was sparked by Boebert campaigning for fellow Republican Thomas Massie, a prominent critic of Trump within the House Republican conference.
Massie subsequently lost his primary to Ed Gallrein, with Boebert suggesting Gallrein’s victory was due to Trump’s backing rather than his own merits.
This incident follows a previous clash in which Trump vetoed Boebert’s legislation to secure clean drinking water in Colorado.
