Martin Compston and Vicky McClure have been spotted filming dramatic car crash scenes for Line of Duty. The pair have starred in the BBC’s hit police drama since its inception and, whilst series six was thought to be the last, a seventh run was announced towards the end of last year and filming has begun in Belfast.

Vicky, 43, who plays Detective Inspector Kate Fleming was seen alongside Martin, who stars as DI Steve Arnott as the pair filmed filming on Corporation Street.

The pair seem to be at the heart of an explosive car crash scene, as new pictures have revealed a police car overturned on set whilst, in character, Martin and Vicky, brandish guns around.

The seventh series of Line of Duty is currently underway

Earlier this month, filming had to be paused had because of the Belfast riots, and production was also blighted when Martin was injured by an Airsoft gun before terrible weather to the scheduling chaos for the hit BBC show.

Scottish-born star Martin needed medical help after a scene involving a firearm alternative, which is often used on cop shows. The actor was fine despite being accidentally injured, but more problems were around the corner.

With much of the filming taking place in Northern Ireland, bosses then had to close the set down with the Belfast riots taking place. Violence was sparked by anti-immigration protests after 30-year-old Sudanese national Hadi Alodid was charged with the attempted murder of Stephen Ogilvie.
