Kano appoints 19 new permanent secretaries, redeploys 14

The Kano State Government has approved the appointment of 19 new permanent secretaries and the redeployment of 14 serving permanent secretaries across Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the state civil service.

The state Head of Civil Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu-Maimota, disclosed this in a statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Office of the Head of Civil Service, Rukayya Uba-Sulaiman, on Tuesday in Kano.

According to Uba-Sulaiman, the appointments are a call to greater responsibility and selfless service to the people of the state.

The statement read, “I have the pleasure to convey the approval of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for the appointment/deployment of Permanent Secretaries in the State Civil Service.

“The posting follows the recent upliftment of some deserving Directors to the position of Permanent Secretaries, which was aimed at re-strengthening the machinery of Government for an effective and efficient service delivery.

“It is hoped that the newly-appointed Permanent Secretaries would ensure discharge of their duties diligently and with competence for the promotion of the lofty goals of the Administration.

“While the posting takes immediate effect, all handing/taking over are expected to be completed on or before Wednesday 12th August, 2026.”
