‘Historic moment’ for Welsh Greens with first-ever candidate elected to Senedd

- The Wales Green Party has won its first-ever seat in the Senedd, with leader Anthony Slaughter elected in Caerdydd Penarth.
- Mr Slaughter gained the fourth seat in the constituency, securing 14 per cent of the vote, ahead of Labour‘s 12 per cent.
- He said he is “honoured” to be the first Green candidate elected to the Senedd, calling it “an historic moment for the party”.
- Green Party leader Zack Polanski said he is “so proud to see my friend Anthony play a central role in our historic breakthrough onto the Senedd”.
- Mr Slaughter said he aims to address key issues including the cost of living, the housing crisis, and protecting Wales’s natural environment.
