At long last, more than two and a half years after Rockstar Games unveiled the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, GTA 6 pre-orders are finally live in the UK. Millions of fans are expected to rush to secure a copy of one of the most anticipated games ever made, with retailers braced for what could be one of the biggest gaming launches in history.
Developer Rockstar Games has now announced all editions of the game, as well as UK pricing. The game is going live at retailers today, including Amazon, Very, EE and more.
We’ll be bringing you all the latest news, retailer updates and stock availability as it happens, plus everything you need to know about the different editions, pricing and any surprise announcements from Rockstar – we’re specifically waiting for a third trailer to drop.
How much does GTA 6 cost in the UK?
Well, isn’t this a pleasant surprise? Fans will be very pleased to hear that GTA 6 is no more expensive than any other PS5 game released in 2026.
The Standard Edition of the game costs £69.99, while the Ultimate Edition of the game costs £89.99. That is very far off the rumoured £150 price tag some analysts were touting due to the estimated $1bn-$2bn budget.
GTA 6 is available to pre-order now
Good morning! Welcome back to The Independent’s rolling coverage of the GTA 6 pre-order launch. I’m The Independent’s senior tech critic and I’ll be bringing you all the latest pre-order details.Stay tuned.
GTA 6 is officially available to pre-order
THe standard and ultimate editions of GTA 6 are now available to pre-order in the UK at the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store.
Listings at third-party retailers are also going live. I’ll be rounding up all the places where you can pre-order GTA 6. Stay tuned.
The physical edition of GTA 6 doesn’t include a disc
A very odd move from Rockstar Games. The developer has announced that if you buy a physical version of the game, you’ll just get a code in the box to download the game – not a disc.
There are more perks reserved just for Ultimate Edition owners
As well as the bonuses detailed below in the post below, you’ll also get an exclusive quest with the Ultimate Edition of the game.
The Classic Car Collection questline lets players restore abandoned vehicles, with four cars exclusive to the premium edition of the game.
Two exclusive vehicle mod shops – Rideout Customs in Vice City and One-Eyed Willie’s in Lake Leonida – will only be available to Ultimate Edition owners as well.
Those who pre-order GTA 6 digitally will get another perk
Anyone who pre-orders GTA 6 digitally through the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store will receive a free month of GTA+.
The free month of GTA+ comes with a monthly GTA$500,000 in-game cash deposit for GTA Online, bonus rewards on Shark Card purchases, access to exclusive discounts and vehicles, plus a rotating selection of Rockstar games.
You’ll be able to redeem the free month immediately after pre-ordering, though Rockstar says a GTA+ membership will automatically renew at the standard monthly rate unless cancelled.
What do GTA 6 pre-order bonuses include?

Rockstar Games confirms GTA 6 price
Rockstar Games will be releasing two versions of GTA 6 – a standard edition and an Ultimate Edition – and it seems fans may have been worrying themselves silly about the price for no reason.
The developer has confirmed that the standard edition will cost $79.99, while the pricier GTA 6 Ultimate Edition will retail for $99.99. UK pricing has not yet been revealed.
Some analysts had predicted that GTA 6 could cost $150, which now seems wide off the mark.
What time can you pre-order GTA 6 in the UK?
It’s official. GTA 6 pre-orders will go live at midnight tonight. Rockstar has confirmed that the game will become available simultaneously at midnight in each local time zone, meaning players in New Zealand will be the first to gain access to pre-orders.
I’ll be bringing you all the latest as more becomes available. Stay tuned.
