Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has convened an emergency security meeting to review the state’s security situation and strengthen measures aimed at tackling emerging threats.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ahmed Idris.

Speaking after the meeting, the Commissioner for Home Affairs and Internal Security, Haliru Wasagu, said the meeting reviewed the current security situation and strategies to enhance the protection of lives and property across the state.

According to Wasagu, discussions centred on strengthening the state’s security architecture and improving coordination among security agencies to ensure a more effective response to criminal activities.

He said the governor remained committed to supporting security agencies in efforts to combat crime, dismantle criminal hideouts and maintain peace across Kebbi State.

Wasagu warned that individuals involved in criminal activities would face the full weight of the law, reaffirming the government’s determination to rid the state of criminal elements.

The commissioner appealed to residents to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could assist in identifying and apprehending suspects, stressing that public cooperation remains vital to improving security.

He also commended security agencies for their continued efforts in maintaining peace and stability across the state.

Governor Idris reiterated that the security of residents remained a top priority, assuring that his administration would continue to strengthen collaboration with security agencies to preserve peace and safeguard lives and property across Kebbi State.
