Four Ugandan boxers have gone missing in Scotland following the conclusion of the Commonwealth Games.
Angel Katushabe, Nuhu Batte, Ibrahim Khemis and Emily Nakalema, all of Team Uganda, failed to join teammates ahead of their return to East Africa on Tuesday, August 4.
Their whereabouts are currently unknown.
Uganda had sent a six-member boxing team to the Games.
According to the African website NBS Sport, one of the missing boxers told the publication that the athletes intend to seek asylum and pursue their boxing careers in Scotland.
It comes after members of Team Uganda failed to return after the Commonwealth Games in Australia in 2018.
Two Ugandan rugby sevens players, Benon Kizza and Philip Pariyo, also went missing after Glasgow 2014.
They later claimed asylum and moved to Cardiff before joining a local rugby team.
The 2026 Commonwealth Games ended in Glasgow on Sunday, July 2.

The evemt, which saw around 3,000 athletes from 74 nations take part, left Scotland in fourth place in the final medal table.
The competition took over the city for eleven days, with pop ups and special events at Glasgow cathedral, the City Chambers, Scotland House and the Merchant City.
