Equi’s Ice Cream is celebrating another standout year at the prestigious Great Taste Awards after scooping 10 stars across six products, marking the 11th consecutive year the Rutherglen ice cream maker has been recognised by the Guild of Fine Food.
Widely regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world, the Great Taste Awards are judged by more than 500 food and drink experts, including chefs, buyers, food writers and retailers.
This year’s winning flavours are:
Pistachio Swirl – 2 stars.
Strawberry – 2 stars.
Crème Brûlée – 2 stars.
Amaretto Bakewell – 2 stars.
Blackcurrant & Cassis Sorbet – 1 star.
Liquorice & Mascarpone Gelato – 1 star.
Among this year’s winners are two flavours readily available for customers to enjoy at home.
Both Pistachio Swirl and Strawberry received two-star awards, recognising them as outstanding products that deliver above and beyond.
Pistachio Swirl is available in 460ml tubs at major retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Co-op, Scotmid, Morrisons and selected One O One stores, while Strawberry is available in 120ml tubs from selected One O One and Asda Convenience stores.
Both award-winning flavours can also be enjoyed in Equi’s parlours across Scotland.

Great Taste judges were particularly impressed by Pistachio Swirl, describing it as: “An exceptionally well-executed ice cream… the true pistachio flavour is captured beautifully. A delicious ice cream – the judges wanted to eat more.”
The judges also praised Strawberry, calling it: “A very well-made, natural-tasting ice cream… tremendously smooth with a creamy and indulgent texture.”
Behind every scoop is a commitment to quality ingredients, with Equi’s sourcing its whole milk from East Kilbride-based Park Farm, which also picked up accolades at the 2026 Great Taste Awards.
The latest recognition continues Equi’s long-standing success at the Great Taste Awards, with the family-run business now celebrating 11 consecutive years of recognition for its handcrafted ice cream and gelato.
