Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza of the Kebbi State High Court has been reunited with his family after spending about a week in the custody of his abductors.
His release was confirmed on Monday by a member of his family, who said the judge arrived home safely earlier in the day.
The family member described the judge’s return as a moment of thanksgiving.
“We are filled with joy and gratitude to God for bringing him back safely. It has been a difficult one week, but today our family is celebrating his return,” the source said.
The family also acknowledged the support they received from the Kebbi State Judiciary, security agencies, friends and residents throughout the period of the abduction.
According to the relative, the prayers, encouragement and solidarity shown by many people helped the family remain hopeful during the ordeal.
