Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, is confident his team can overcome Spain in the last 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

Although Ronaldo admits the European champions are favourites to win the trophy, he is expecting a “balanced” match.

The two countries have set up an Iberian Derby, after they came through their first knockout fixtures.

Spain thrashed Austria 3-0, while Portugal came from behind to beat Croatia 2-1.

Ronaldo “We will be ready, we know them well.

“Spain are among favorites to win.

“It is a very balanced match, and we will see what happens…”
