LadBaby has tipped Scotland to be a World Cup dark horse – and enjoyed a tipple of his own by taking a bottle of Buckfast to the Pride of Scotland awards. The YouTube star, real name Mark Hoyle, wore a kilt as he and wife Roxanne joined the celebrations at Glasgow’s Hilton on Monday night.
The online stars said they had loved their trip north, joking the weather was ‘flipping cold’ but praising Scotland as a ‘wonderful place’ after flying in the day before. Producing a bottle of Buckfast from the kilt, he said: “Cold is what it feels to be in Scotland… and thankfully it’s not raining, but you know it could be a little bit warmer.
“It’s a wonderful place. We flew in yesterday and I’ll be terribly honest with you it has been just a joy. And we know how to party by the way.”

The pair were full of praise for the event, with LadBaby adding they were thrilled to be involved after previous appearances at Pride of Britain. He said: “We’ve been on holidays and we’ve just we’ve bought our own sauces.
“We’re going for world domination. I know that we know that this is the first step, take Scotland and then we’ll move on.
“We enjoy our community. It’s amazing to get invited to events like this. We’ve been to Pride of Britain a few times and now it’s all about Scotland and such a lovely event.”
And when it came to football, LadBaby was surprisingly optimistic about Scotland’s chances, saying they could go further than many people expect. His wife Ladmum also admitted: “Scotland I’ve got a soft spot.”
LadBaby then backed the Tartan Army to surprise people, adding: “I hope you guys do well. I think you will be better than everyone is giving you credit. Oh, I think you’ll be a dark horse.”
But he also made it clear his loyalties still have a border, joking: “I think you go further but there’s no soft spot. Come on, England.”
Also talking football was Nathan Evans who was there with the Saint Phnx band as Stevie Jukes hosted the awards’ red carpet at the start of the night.

Airdrie singer Evans said: “We’ve got babies, we’ve got songs, we’ve got football. It’s been a whirlwind and somebody needs to ask my wife how I fit it all in. We’re away for the World Cup in a couple of days and then from the World Cup we support Amy Macdonald and Tom Jones.
“This is our fourth year here and it’s incredible. From start to finish it is just positive stories all the way through, what they’ve came from, what they’ve been through and what they’re doing.
“I’ve got hankies ready because there is the unbelievable achievements they have done for communities.”
