  • Spain secured a dominant 4-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in Atlanta, successfully getting their World Cup campaign back on track after an initial goalless draw against Cape Verde.
  • The European champions quickly asserted their dominance, scoring three goals within the opening 24 minutes of the match to take a commanding lead in Group H.
  • Lamine Yamal, the 18-year-old Barcelona star, marked his first World Cup start by scoring the opening goal, which was swiftly followed by a quickfire double from Mikel Oyarzabal.
  • Saudi Arabia‘s difficulties were further compounded in the second half when Hassan Al Tambakti scored an unfortunate own goal, extending Spain‘s lead to four.
  • Despite a late goal from Ferran Torres being disallowed for offside after a lengthy VAR review, Spain comfortably saw out the rest of the game.
