Argentina head coach, Lionel Scaloni, has revealed what his captain, Lionel Messi, told him ahead of their World Cup final against Spain.
Scaloni’s side will tackle Spain in the World Cup final on Sunday in New Jersey, USA.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Scaloni revealed that Messi told him that they [Albiceleste] are a pure history heading into the World Cup final.
Scaloni said (as quoted by Fabrizio Romano), “Messi told me: ‘We’re a pure history’.
“But the one who is truly history is him, a legend. Hearing him say that fills me with pride.
“To have the greatest footballer the world has ever seen think that about this group is something truly wonderful,” he said.
Messi and Scaloni won the last edition of the World Cup in Qatar four years ago.
