Former Chelsea star, Joe Cole, has picked Portugal as the country with the best midfield going into the World Cup tournament.

Cole stated this while insisting that he doesn’t fancy Spain’s chances at the World Cup, predicting that Luis de la Fuente’s side will ‘limp out’ of the tournament.

“I’m going to throw it out there, I think this Spain team will limp out. I think they will limp out,” The Dressing Room Podcast.

“For instance, if Lamine Yamal doesn’t play, say he gets injured or something, I just don’t fancy them.

“I think Portugal has got a chance.

“My thinking is… Vitinha, Nuno Mendes at left-back, obviously Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Joao Neves, so the midfield is solid, I think the midfield is the best in the tournament.”
