France coach, Didier Deschamps,  rejected a request from his players for a night out before their 2026 FIFA World Cup third-place final with England on Saturday.

According to L’Equipe, France players wanted a free evening ‘as an opportunity to clear their heads’ after their 2-0 defeat to Spain in the semi-final earlier this week.

However, Deschamps refused their request as he doesn’t want to end the World Cup tournament with back-to-back defeats.

The France squad had travelled from their World Cup training base in Boston to Miami on Thursday ahead of the England clash this weekend.

Recall that England lost 2-1 against Argentina in the semi-final encounter on Wednesday.
