Will there be more hot weather in September? Here’s what we know

Fresh weather warnings in place as UK faces Bank Holiday washout
  • The Met Office has issued its long range weather forecast for September, offering insight as to whether more hot weather will grip the UK.
  • It comes after many experienced a bank holiday washout following a summer of record-breaking temperatures.
  • The start of September is likely to see “an unsettled period”, the forecaster said, “with many places seeing showers or longer spells of rain at times”.
  • Between Saturday, 5 September and Monday, 14 September, the Met Office says “temperatures are likely to be near average, although brief warm or very warm spells are possible, especially in the south.”
  • For the period spanning Tuesday, 15 September to Tuesday, 29 September, the forecaster predicts: “Temperatures are likely to be around average overall, although some warm spells are possible, particularly in the south.”
