- Hundreds of residents have been evacuated from two Belgian villages as the flames advanced to within a mile of the German border.
- International support from Germany, Luxembourg, Sweden, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic has been deployed to help tackle the blaze.
- Wildfires and extreme weather have also caused destruction and fatalities across other European nations, including Greece, Croatia and Spain.
