Why Peppa Pig went into space hours before the solar eclipse
- Peppa Pig has completed a high-altitude mission above 100,000 feet to mark a major solar eclipse in the UK.
- The solar eclipse will see the moon obscure over 90 per cent of the Sun on Wednesday evening.
- Footage of Peppa’s journey was captured in 4K resolution and screened at the NEC Birmingham as part of the Peppa Pig Space Adventure experience.
- During her flight, the animated character spotted the NEC and various regional landmarks before returning safely to Earth.
- A competition encouraging children to design a space rocket for Peppa is accepting entries online until 1 September.
