Mr Murray had held the role as the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, and was previously the Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury. He is also the MP for Ealing North, a post he has held sine 2019.
In 2016, having advised Sadiq Khan during his successful selection and election campaigns to become Mayor of London, he was named as London’s Deputy Mayor for Housing.

Mr Murray was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, a long-term neurological condition that causes muscle weakness, but he has been symptom free since the early 2010s.
