White House begins building UFC arena for Trump’s birthday celebration
Trump says he’s building a 4,500-seat UFC arena outside White House
A massive stage is being constructed on the White House South Lawn for UFC Freedom 250, an event featuring six UFC bouts on June 14.
The event coincides with Donald Trump‘s 80th birthday and is marketed as part of America’s 250th birthday commemoration.
Construction crews have begun assembling a large lighting rig, with photos showing cranes and progress on the setup.
Trump stated that 4,000 seats will be available on the South Lawn, with a free public screening expected to draw up to 100,000 people in Lafayette Park.
While the UFC is funding the event, sponsorship packages for ringside tickets have reportedly sold for $1 million or more.
