Supporters arrive at New York/New Jersey Stadium for Panama v England
Thomas Tuchel’s side are top of Group L on four points, following an impressive opening win against Croatia and then a 0-0 stalemate against Ghana on Tuesday night.
England’s clash with Panama takes place at the New York/New Jersey Stadium; the 82,000 capacity stadium serves as the home for the New York Giants and New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL) and will host the World Cup final on 19 July.
It has rained for multiple hours at the New York Stadium, soaking fans and leaving some pundits criticising the state of the pitch.
England must win or better Ghana’s result against Croatia to qualify as group winners from Group L but a draw against Panama and a win by Ghana over Croatia will see The Three Lions qualify as Group L runners-up; If England qualify as group winners, they will next play at 5pm BST on Wednesday 1 July, but if Thomas Tuchel’s side finish second, they will play at 12am BST on 3 July.
