A former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, Prof Chidi Odinkalu, has questioned President Bola Tinubu’s citizenship, educational background and family history in Nigeria.
Odinkalu said the major details of Tinubu’s personal information are still not clear.
The Professor of Law spoke in a video posted on social media, where he pointed out what he saw as problems with the President’s public records.
He said Nigerians still don’t know the President’s real nationality because of his alleged link to a Guinean diplomatic passport.
Odinkalu said: “We have a President whose nationality is unknown because he holds a Guinea diplomatic passport. We don’t know the parentage or family background of some people, and now we understand that President Buhari also thought the same.
“Somebody whose parentage, whose genealogy we do not know and we now understand that President Buhari thought the same thing too; whose primary school we do not know, whose secondary school we do not know, and who now claims to have gone to university.”
The senior lawyer asked how someone can say they got a university degree without having proper records of their primary and secondary education.
This comes amid reports that the President did not provide his primary and secondary school certificates in the forms he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
