Vile Nazi salute thug exposed as serial stalker and abuser

A far-right thug who made Nazi salutes at a “protect women and children protest” can be revealed as a serial stalker and abuser.

Ryan Marshall was pictured making the “sieg heil” gesture at the Unite the Clans rally in Glasgow last Saturday, which resulted in at least 15 arrests. The demo was supposed to highlight the threat ­immigrants pose to women – but Marshall has persecuted women for much of his adult life.

The Record can reveal that Marshall, 37, attacked partners over months then ruthlessly stalked them after they found the courage to dump him. He spent several periods in jail but emerged to give sob stories that would patch up relationships, only for more carnage to erupt.

The thug has collected a series of convictions, including several for assault and others for stalking various women. One told us she only ended the relationship after she was attacked by Marshall’s mother the day after the couple became engaged.

Others went to police after stalking and harassment followed the break-up of their relationships. An ex-partner said he was a “master manipulator” skilled in keeping women under his control. He had been jailed for crimes against women before they met around 2019, and her life was turned upside down because of his torrent of attacks.

She said: “Ryan would use me as a punchbag. He smashed my head into a mirror. He has gave me black eyes, smashed up phones. You name it, he’s done it. He’s a very angry, nasty person. He’d get drunk, would take drugs and he’d get angry and the cycle would repeat.

“He was always paranoid. He always thought you were cheating on him or talking to somebody else, or even if you were out shopping and you glanced at someone he would get triggered. He has been prosecuted for so many things but he’s got off with so much too, just bargained the charges away by admitting the stalking.”

The victim said that police smashed in the door of her home on the day Marshall hit her head off a mirror. She said: “He gave me the same stuff, saying if I withdrew charges ­everything would be better. Then he started threatening to attack my family and I was thinking that if I just stick with him, then it’ll be all right. But I was walking on eggshells constantly.”

The relationship ended in 2021, shortly after Marshall was released early from jail, which led to a party at the home of his mother, Shona Boyd, who ended up viciously attacking the young woman.

The victim said: “We’d just got engaged the day before and he’d told his family, including his mother. She pulled hair out of my head and repeatedly punched me in the face, breaking my nose. It was all witnessed by my daughter, who was eight.”

In June 2021, Boyd pled guilty to assault at Paisley Sheriff Court. Sheriff McGinty called the attack: “Absolute thuggery at its highest.” He put Boyd on a tag for four months, placed her under supervision for 18 months and ordered her to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work.

In 2018, Marshall was hauled into court in separate cases for stalking campaigns against two women. One ex-partner, a police officer, was barraged with threatening messages after they split.

The 28-year-old woman claimed Marshall sent hundreds of texts and recordings a day and made hoax 999 calls to send police and ­ambulance crews to her home.

The constable told Hamilton Sheriff Court of the messages: “A lot of them were quite threatening. Sometimes there was hundreds a day. I was ­terrified. When I didn’t answer it got more and more ­aggressive. It was constant.”

Testifying behind a screen, she added that police and ­ambulances arrived up to three times a night. Marshall admitted the stalking charge and, in June 2018, he was sentenced to nine months imprisonment.

He was jailed for 30 months for a campaign of terror against another partner after a terrifying series of ­incidents which culminated in him being captured by police after ditching a kitchen knife with a near 8in blade.

The brute hounded his young victim by turning up uninvited at her family’s home and at her business in Paisley. He also showed up unannounced and uninvited after she fled to a friend’s home.

At Paisley Sheriff Court, Marshall admitted charges including behaviour that caused his victim to suffer fear and alarm between September 2017 and February 2018, resisting arrest and assault on officers during his detention.

Marshall made more than 100 calls to her mobile in hours, and used false names to make malicious police reports on her.

He tried to hide in Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park and had to leg it after police lay in wait. He tossed a kitchen knife into bushes before trying to escape.

By then he had accumulated 27 previous convictions, including three for assault. As well as 30 months in jail, Marshall was given a five-year non-harassment order to ban all contact with the victim.

Revelations about Marshall follow stories in the Record about Alan Miller, who was videoed trying to intimidate passers-by at the far-right protests on Glasgow Green. Miller had been convicted of domestic abuse after wrecking the lives of previous girlfriends.
