The US has intercepted and seized an Iranian-flagged cargo ship attempting to get past its blockade of Iran’s ports, Donald Trump says
The ship was given “fair warning to stop” in the Gulf of Oman but refused, so the navy “stopped them right in their tracks by blowing a hole in the engine room”, Trump says, adding the ship is in US “custody”
Earlier, Trump said his representatives would be in Pakistan on Monday for negotiations – a White House official says Vice-President JD Vance will lead the US delegation
However, Iran’s state media says Tehran has “no plans for now to participate” in the talks, although no official has clarified Iran’s position yet
Trump threatened to strike Iranian power plants and bridges if a deal was not reached – the latest in a series of threats linked to the negotiations
