  • The US Army’s stockpiles of crucial surface-to-surface missiles, such as ATACMS and Precision Strike Missiles, have been significantly depleted during a five-month conflict with Iran.
  • Sources indicate that “virtually all” of these specific weapons have been used, raising concerns about military readiness for future engagements and the ability to deter adversaries.
  • Other key munitions, including Patriot interceptors and Tomahawk cruise missiles, have also seen substantial depletion, with reports suggesting significant percentages expended.
  • Trump asserted that the US has “far more munitions than anyone in the world” and that defence companies are increasing production at record levels.
  • However, analysts warn that despite increased production, current supplies may be insufficient for a prolonged conflict, with the drawdown reflecting a strategy to avoid riskier attack methods.
