A United Airlines flight has been forced to make an emergency landing after an “unruly passenger” allegedly tried to storm the cockpit.
United UA2005 had left Chicago and was half way into its journey to Minneapolis on Friday night when it diverted to Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, Wisconsin.
The emergency landing came after an individual on board became disruptive, according to airline officials. Several passengers claimed on social media that the flier was ranting in Russian and there was a mid-flight struggle.
Some passengers also alleged that the person attempted to storm the cockpit
In a statement, United Airlines said the aircraft landed safely to address “a security concern with an unruly passenger.” “United flight 2005 from Chicago to Minneapolis landed safely in Madison, Wisconsin to address a security concern with an unruly passenger,” the airline said. “The flight is expected to continue to Minneapolis later on Friday.”

According to the airline, there were 147 passengers and six crew members aboard the Boeing 737. No injuries were reported.
