- Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods, based in Richmond, Virginia, is recalling approximately 22,880 pounds of baked spaghetti and chicken cobbler products due to potential contamination with metal slivers.
- The recall, announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, affects specific products including 62.4-oz. and 14.8-oz. Ukrop’s Baked Spaghetti and 48-oz. and 11.6-oz. Ukrop’s Chicken Cobbler, identifiable by their packaging and establishment numbers EST. 19979 or P-19979 in the mark of inspection.
- These items were produced between July 1, 2026, and July 29, 2026, and have best by dates ranging from July 8, 2026, through August 5, 2026.
- The affected products, detailed in the recall notice, were shipped to retail locations across North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, the Department of Defense, and were also sold through online channels.
- The problem was identified after a consumer reported finding a metal piece in a fully cooked product. While no confirmed injuries have been reported, consumers are urged not to consume these products and should either throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
