Ukraine destroys massive Wildberries site as drone hits ‘Russian Amazon’

Wildberries logistics centres hit in Ukraine’s biggest drone strike of the year
  • Ukraine has destroyed a 250,000 square-metre Wildberries logistics complex in Podolsk, 25 miles south of the Kremlin, following a major drone strike.
  • Moscow regional governor Andrey Vorobyov reported that an 83-year-old man was killed and three other people were injured during the overnight barrage.
  • Ukrainian defence officials stated the retail network was targeted because its infrastructure is used by Russian forces to store dual-use military supplies.
  • Moscow claimed its forces downed hundreds of incoming aircraft, with mayor Sergei Sobyanin stating up to 600 drones were detected heading towards the capital region.
  • The strike is the seventh on a major Wildberries hub in six weeks as President Volodymyr Zelensky escalates retaliatory deep-strike attacks against Russian targets.
